Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator-

Bio: T.J. is a 2003 graduate of South Burlington High School, where he was a two year starting quarterback, a captain, and Division II All-Conference Player.  He was also a North/South All-Star and participant in the 50th Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.  He then went on to Endicott College where he was a three year starting Defensive Back and a All-Conference Corner-back in 2005.  That year Endicott was ranked top 10 in New England’s Division III polls. The defense in 05’ was ranked the 22nd best defensive squad in NCAA (Divisions 1,2,3) with allowing just 13.6 points a game, a nation leading total of 30 interceptions, and a +23 in the turnover margin.
 
Prior to his arrival at UVM, T.J. began his football coaching career at Marblehead High School in Marblehead, Massachusetts.  He was the varsity DB/WR coach and Junior Varsity Offensive Coordinator.  In 2008, T.J. returned to Endicott College to be the Defensive Back’s coach.
 
Sawyer moved back to Vermont in June 2009 when he was hired as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Colchester High School.  T.J. volunteered his time with the Lakers football team, the 11-0 Division II State Champions last year.  T.J also works full time in Special Education in the Colchester School District.
 
Coach Sawyer got his B.A. in Psychology from Endicott College in 2007.  He resides in South Burlington.

Bio: A 2005 graduate of South Burlington High School, Kynoch has played competitive football, basketball, and baseball from a young age.  Although a quarterback throughout his life, he helped win a state championship as an All-State Defensive end in 2005.  Kynoch spent time studying Physical Education at Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island.   Following his time in college, Kynoch assisted the South Burlington High School varsity team as a defensive coach, and in years to follow spent time scouting opponents.  Currently, Kynoch is on his fourth year as the head coach of the Junior Varsity B basketball program at South Burlington High School.   He is extremely excited at the idea of helping the continuation of building a football program at a school as prestigious as UVM.  Kynoch currently resides in South Burlington. 
 
 
Defensive Coordinator-
   Steve Sheeler, contact: sheels@hotmail.com
 
Bio: Steve is a 2000 Graduate from Gloversville High School in New York.  Steve was a Captain and All-League Linebacker.  Steve then continued his efforts to Stonehill College where he put his name on the map.  Sheeler was a four year starting middle linebacker, two year captain, three year All-Conference performer, two year All-New England performer, and two year All-American performer.  Steve holds the career tackle record (402 tackles) for both Stonehill College and the Northeast 10 Conference.  Steve finished up as Stonehill’s 2004 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.   Coach Sheeler was Gloversville H.S. Defensive Assistant in 2004 and has been helping out Colchester High School Strength and Conditioning.   Steve graduated from Stonehill College in 2004 with a B.A. in Education and is currently a UVM graduated student pursuing a Master’s of Art in Teaching.  Sheeler resides in Colchester.
