UVM Club Football Earns Outstanding Organization of the Year Award

The University of Vermont Club Football Team was awarded the Presidents
Award for Outstanding Organization award on Thursday, May 1, 2008. The award is given to "any student organization (club, team, honorary group, Greek chapter,
etc.) is eligible to receive this award. The award is based on the
organization's leadership, active members, growth over the past year,
programmatic efforts, collaborative efforts with other groups, and
contributions the organization has made to UVM and/or the surrounding
community".
The team was recognized by the Student Life department for their collaborations with the Catamount Dance Team and the 2010 Class Council in their 2007 season. The team was also recognized for its efforts to connect the Burlington community, UVM community, and UVM Football Alumni to the team. The team was able to draw an audience between 500-2000 people for their home games this fall as well as help the development office host a UVM Football Alumni reunion weekend in October 2007.
President Doug DeLuca attended the Student Life Awards reception on May 1, 2008 to accept the award. The team hopes to continue to play a positive role in the Burlington and UVM community in their second season in 2008. With a new schedule and a group of new players its looking to be another successful year.
