The first ever NCFA-sanctioned collegiate club football game lived up to the hype, as the University of Vermont Catamounts defeated their rival Black Bears from the University of Maine 21-20 in a nail-biter on November 7. In true rivalry game style, the UVM and UMaine club football teams fought until the end and, with the deciding score coming on a one-yard touchdown run by UVM's running back and club president Doug DeLuca in his final game.  

After a disappointing 45-0 rout in their first away game of the season October 11 at Williams College, the University of Vermont went on the road again this past weekend, travelling to Hanover, New Hampshire to play Division I-AA Dartmouth College’s junior varsity Big Green. The Catamounts had practiced hard all week, and eagerly anticipated Sunday’s game. The air in Hanover was frosty, and rumors had swirled all week of an impending nor’easter, but the weather held off for the 1:00 pm start and the game began without delay.
